Who are we, and what is our project about?
Our charity is rooted in the North West and driven by a mission to promote education and empowerment for individuals of all ages, with a strong focus on underserved communities. Drawing on the lived experience of our core members, we understand the deep challenges faced by many in our community—particularly young people—who are navigating poverty, have limited access to opportunity, and are experiencing the compounding effects of the cost-of-living crisis.
In response, we are launching a two-pronged empowerment initiative designed specifically to address the most urgent barriers faced by teens and young adults today: financial instability and digital exclusion.
The Problem
The ongoing cost-of-living crisis is hitting many local families hard. Many are forced to make impossible choices between heating their homes, feeding their children, or affording basic necessities. For young people growing up in these conditions, the opportunities to build a stable future are increasingly limited.
In addition, a lack of basic financial literacy and digital skills is preventing many from accessing further education, managing daily expenses, or even applying for jobs. These are not just skill gaps—they are opportunity gaps that contribute to long-term cycles of poverty and disempowerment.
The Project
This project aims to break these cycles by:
Equipping teens and young adults with practical tools to take control of their finances and digital lives.
Increasing confidence and independence in managing money and technology.
Opening up access to further education, employment, and improved quality of life.
Providing support that is community-driven, inclusive, and shaped by lived experience.
MoneyWise Mastery

Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of how to take control of their financial lives and build habits that support long-term security and independence.
ByteSize Basics
Digital Literacy for Life and Work

To bridge the digital divide for disadvantaged young people who lack essential computer skills, preventing them from fully engaging in education, employment, or modern life.
Course Content Includes

Target Audience
-
Primary focus: Teens to young adults (ages 14–25)
-
Secondary: Wider age groups in the community identified through need
-
Priority given to those from low-income households, NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) individuals, and those facing digital or financial exclusion
Community-Centered Approach
This initiative is designed and led by individuals with lived experience of the very challenges it aims to address. We believe this brings a unique level of empathy, authenticity, and relatability to our delivery.
Our training will be delivered in accessible community venues and at times that accommodate school leavers, young parents, and working individuals. We will also provide follow-up support to help participants apply their learning in real life.
Anticipated Impact
-
Increase in financial literacy and independence among young people
-
Enhanced employability potential through improved digital skills
-
Greater confidence and mental wellbeing from feeling in control
-
More equitable access to career, training, and educational pathways

Conclusion
This project is more than just a set of courses—it is a timely, relevant, and compassionate response to urgent community needs. By equipping young people with the skills to take control of their financial and digital futures, we aim to foster long-term empowerment and unlock lasting opportunities.
